Street crime decreased by 7 percent: Sindh IG

KARACHI (DNN – Dekh News Network, 18 Jan, 2020) – On the occasion, IG Kaleem Imam said that justice must be provided to the people. Sindh Inspector General (IG) Kaleem Imam on Saturday observed that the overall crime rate has reduced by 7 percent.

The IG chaired a meeting examining the law and order in the province, and maintained that due to peaceful Sindh and Karachi, foreign delegates and tourists have been coming from all over the world.

The additional IG operations provided briefing on the overall crime rate, and pointed out that first information reports’ (FIRs) registration rate has been increased by 23 percent, and rise of 54 percent and 41 percent in the arrests of proclaimed offenders and fugitives, respectively was observed.

On the occasion, IG Kaleem Imam said that justice must be provided to the people, and public confidence should be boosted for better image of police. In the International Crime Index, Karachi dropped its rating from sixth place to 88th rank.
